The Word
Prayer and Acknowledgments
Jehovah, Jesus Christ, Holy Michael! Lord Jesus I pray and seek divine guidance and transformation for all in attendance and the readers and listeners of your word today. AMEN!
The Shepherd expressed gratitude for the opportunity to worship together and acknowledged the church leaders, youth, and ministry supporters who play vital roles in the spiritual growth of the congregation.
The Church as a Spiritual Institution
The Church is not mere social gathering but as a place of divine instruction and transformation. It is where believers surrender to God and experience His grace. Note that God’s grace should never be taken for granted, as it is the foundation of our spiritual journey.
Theme: Grace Through Faith
The central theme of the sermon was drawn from Romans 11:5, which speaks of a remnant chosen by grace. This election is not based on human effort or merit but on God’s sovereign will. The preacher highlighted that grace is a gift, and faith is the key to accessing it.
Understanding the Remnant of Grace
Using 1 Kings 19:18, Elijah felt alone in his faith, but God revealed that He had reserved 7,000 faithful ones who had not bowed to Baal. This passage reminds us that God always has a remnant—a group of people chosen by His grace, not because of their works but because of His divine choice.
Faith: The Key to Divine Election
Let’s delve into the life of Abraham (Genesis 12:1-4), who obeyed God’s call by faith, even without knowing the full picture. Duly stay aware and acknowledge that faith is essential to pleasing God (Hebrews 11:6) and that trusting in His promises is the hallmark of those who are divinely elected.
Overcoming Challenges Through Faith
The lives of biblical heroes like Abraham, David, and Joseph were used to show that trials are an inevitable part of walking in divine election. Abraham faced challenges in Canaan, David endured battles before becoming king, and Joseph overcame betrayal and imprisonment. These examples remind us that faith assures us God is working behind the scenes, even in our darkest moments.
The Call to Righteousness: Avoiding the Abuse of Grace
Do not misuse of grace, Let’s look at Romans 6:1-2, which states that grace is not a license to sin. Divine favor is not guaranteed by church titles or positions but by a heart that seeks righteousness. True worship, Also note that this should be reflected in our everyday living, not just in our Sunday gatherings.
The Blessings of Obedience
Drawing from Deuteronomy 28, this shows that obedience to God’s commands leads to exaltation, fruitfulness, and divine protection. Conversely, disobedience results in separation from God. I urge you all to live in obedience to experience the fullness of God’s blessings.
Conclusion: Walking in the Reality of Grace
I will concluded with a powerful reminder from 1 Peter 2:9, which declares that we are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood. The preacher encouraged the congregation to walk in faith, trust God’s promises, and remain steadfast in their divine calling.
Final Prayer
Ask for the grace to live in obedience and faith. I pray you will not take God’s grace for granted and that you will fully embrace your divine calling.
Reflection
The sermon “Grace Through Faith: The Election of God’s Remnant” is a profound reminder that our relationship with God is not based on what we do but on His unmerited favor. In a world that often values achievement and self-reliance, this message calls us back to the core of our faith—trusting in God’s promises and walking in obedience.
The stories of Abraham, David, and Joseph remind us that challenges are not a sign of God’s absence but an opportunity to deepen our faith. Their lives teach us that God’s grace is sufficient, even when the road ahead seems uncertain.
As we reflect on this sermon, let us ask ourselves:
- Are we walking in faith, trusting God’s promises even when the path is unclear?
- Are we using God’s grace as a license to sin, or are we living righteously as a reflection of His love?
- Are we embracing our divine calling as a chosen generation, or are we taking God’s grace for granted?
May we leave this message with a renewed commitment to live by faith, walk in obedience, and embrace the grace that has been freely given to us.
