Deliverance from Bondage into Glorious Liberty
INTRODUCTION
Deliverance is not just an event; it is a divine transition from captivity into purpose, from pain into peace, from shame into glory. As we reflect on Palm Sunday, we remember Christ’s triumphant entry—an act of divine fulfillment, humility, and deliverance. Just as He sent for the tied donkey, He is sending for you today.
KEY TEXTS
Psalm 98:1–9 – “O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvellous things…” This is a declaration of joy and celebration over God’s saving power and deliverance.
Mark 11:1–11 – The account of Jesus entering Jerusalem riding on a donkey, symbolizing humility, royalty, and divine assignment.
KEY LESSONS
- God Remembers and Delivers
Just as He remembered the tied donkey and sent His disciples to loose it, so will He remember you and set you free.
- Deliverance Starts with Divine Recognition
Jesus knew where the donkey was tied, and He knew the exact words to set it free. He knows your situation and has commanded your release.
- Your Deliverer Determines Your Destiny
“If a slave delivers you, you become a slave. If a witch delivers you, you become a witch. But if God delivers you, you walk into liberty with power and purpose.”
- Suffering is Not Your Original Design
(Romans 8:20–22) – The world was subjected to vanity through the fall of man, but Christ came to restore us into glorious liberty.
- Praise is Proof of Victory
(Psalm 98) – Sing unto the Lord a new song; deliverance should birth new worship, not mere excitement.
- Prophets Have Limits, but Christ Sees All
There are issues that no prophet may detect, but Christ discerns them completely and sets us free.
- Bondage Can Be Spiritual, Environmental, or Ancestral
Some destinies are bound in villages while the victims suffer in cities. But the Holy Spirit is not limited by geography.
- Deliverance is for Fulfillment, Not Just Freedom
The donkey was untied not to roam but to fulfill prophecy—likewise, your deliverance is for divine assignment.
- You Are Called Into Royalty
Jesus rode into Jerusalem like a king. When He enters your life, He brings His royal presence, authority, and order.
- God Delivers in His Name
Jesus instructed: “Tell them the Lord has need of it.” Your deliverance is validated and sealed by the authority of His name.

REFLECTIONS
- Are you truly free, or are you functioning while spiritually tied?
- Who is in charge of your deliverance?
- Are you walking in the purpose of your deliverance like the donkey that carried Jesus?
Conclusion
When Christ entered Jerusalem, He didn’t ride a horse. He chose a donkey — one tied and forgotten, yet redeemed for glory.
You may feel insignificant, forgotten, overworked or overlooked — but today, the Lord has need of you.
Your deliverance is not only from affliction — it is into liberty. And in that liberty, you will glorify God.

- Let every affliction hidden in my foundation be exposed and destroyed.
