Manifesting God’s Glory
Introduction
Today’s sermon draws from Judges 10:1-8, 2 and Thessalonians 1:3-10,reminding us that the King of Glory speaks to us through these passages. To manifest God’s Glory, we must understand the veils that hide it and learn to overcome them.
Veils used by the devil to prevent the manifestation of your glory
- Veil of Distractions
- Comparison: Admiring others is natural, but comparison breeds malice, hate, and destruction. Each step we take in life is known to God, and we’ve been strategically placed where we are today for a purpose.
- Rebellion: Disobedience can lead to losing our Glory. Our blessings can even become a curse if we don’t honor God.
- The Spoilers: When rebellion doesn’t work, the devil tries to tarnish our image, preventing us from reaching the next phase of Glory.
- The Veil of the Old Man
- When we succumb to distractions, the devil opens up our fleshly nature, emptying us of God’s Glory. This is akin to bowing down to the devil.
- Veil of Weakness: The devil attacks, making us feel like things aren’t going well.
- Veil of Weariness: Exhaustion can be a tactic to keep us from our purpose.
- Veil of Laziness: Allowing laziness can hinder our walk with God.
- Veil of Procrastination: Delaying our God-given tasks can keep us in bondage.
How to manifest God’s Glory
- Through the Mercy of God: God’s mercy is our foundation.
- Relationship with the Holy Spirit: Beyond mere acknowledgment, we need a deep, guiding relationship with the Holy Spirit.
- Living a Consecrated Life: This involves holiness, constant study of the Word, and prayerfulness.
- Through Prayer: Prayer is a powerful weapon against the devil’s tactics. Without it, sustaining our Glory is impossible.
Reflection
- Reflect on areas where comparison, rebellion, or the influence of the old man might be veiling your Glory.
- Consider how you can deepen your relationship with the Holy Spirit and live more consecratedly.
- How can you use prayer more effectively to overcome the veils of weakness, weariness, laziness, and procrastination?
Conclusion
The journey to manifesting God’s Glory involves recognizing and overcoming the veils that hide it. Through mercy, a relationship with the Holy Spirit, consecration, and prayer, we can break free and live in the fullness of God’s plan for us.
Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word that guides us. Lord, we pray for the strength to overcome the veils that hide our Glory. Remove any disrepute from our names, end our sorrows, and let nothing hinder our relationship with You. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
